Wellsboro Golfers Place 4th At Towanda

In their 2nd match of the 2026 season, the Wellsboro Golf team finished 4th overall at the Towanda Golf Club on Wednesday afternoon.
The Hornets shot a combined 362 to just miss out on cracking the top-3 to rival North Penn-Mansfield by a stroke.
Senior Syler Pietrzyk shot a 8-over par round of 79 to lead Wellsboro while junior Chase Schultz and sophomore Conlen Whitsell both shot rounds of 94. Freshman Jackson Largey carded a 95, junior Logan Johnson shot a 98, and sophomore Benjamin Jackson rounded out the team with a 104.
Towanda remained undefeated on the short season with a score 313. Athens (327) finished 2nd, North Penn-Mansfield was 3rd (361), Cowanesque Valley (373) was 5th, Wyalusing (385) was 6th, Canton (391) placed 7th, and Sayre rounded out the field in 8th with a score of 412.
The Hornets are now 9-5 (9-5 NTL) on the year and are currently tied for 3rd with North Penn-Mansfield.
The team is back in action Friday for a non-league match with Selinsgrove at Susquehanna Valley Country Club.
