Hornets 6th At Season-Opening Match At Towanda

The Wellsboro Golf team kicked off the 2024 season with a 6th place finish at the Towanda Golf Club on Wednesday, August 14.
Athens won the match, shooting a team score of 332 followed by Towanda (349), North Penn-Mansfield (365), Wyalusing (367), Cowanesque Valley (421), Wellsboro (423), and Sayre (546).
Sophomore Syler Pietrzyk led the Hornets with a score of 94 to finish 6th overall on the afternoon. Junior Marek Mascho shot 109, freshmen Logan Johnson and Chase Schultz both shot 110, sophomore Gideon Lawton finished with a 111, and junior Kiernen Whitsell rounded out the team with a 112.
The Hornets hosts next week's league match at Tyoga Golf Course on Monday.
