Hornets top Northern Tioga, Corning in non-league match

The Wellsboro Golf team took on Northern Tioga and Corning in a 9-hole match at Tyoga Country Club on Wednesday, September 19 and came home with the top spot.

The Hornets shot a 166 as a team to edge out Corning, who shot 169, and Northern Tioga (173) to claim the non-league victory at their home course.

Senior Brandyn Tuttle shot a 40 in the par-35 front 9 to lead the Hornets. Senior Ben Barnett shot 41, junior Ty Morral had a 42, junior Joseph Propheta shot 43, sophomore Brock Hamblin finished with a 47, and freshman Dylan Abernathy rounded out the Hornets with a round of 48.

Wellsboro returns to NTL play back home at Tyoga Country Club on Tuesday, September 25.
