Hornet golfers take second at Tioga

The Wellsboro Golf team brought home a 2nd place finish at Tioga Country Club in Nichols, NY on Monday, September 19.
The Hornets shot 359 and were 4 strokes behind 1st place finisher Northern Tioga. Sayre (369) finished 3rd, Northeast Bradford (370) was 4th at their home course, Towanda (380) was 5th, North Penn-Mansfield (383) was 6th, and Athens rounded out the field with a score of 399.
Sophomore Brandyn Tuttle led Wellsboro on the afternoon with a 3rd place overall finish to earn medalist honors. Tuttle shot a 78 with 8 pars and 2 birdies. Sophomore Ben Barnett tied for 5th overall with a round of 85, sophomore Taynton Repard shot 95, freshman Joseph Propheta finished with 101, and sophomore Chris Richardson and freshman Ty Morral each shot 108.
Wellsboro (26-4) sits in 2nd place in Northern Tier League and are 2 games back of Northern Tioga (28-2). The Hornets are back in action on Thursday, September 22 at Clinton Country Club for a non-league match with Central Mountain before hosting the NTL at Tyoga Country Club on Tuesday, September 22.
