Hornet golfers take second match of season

The Wellsboro Golf team captured their second win of the 2012 season as they finished first at Tioga Country Club in Nichols, NY yesterday afternoon in a rain shortened match. The Hornets edged out Athens shooting 83 over par while the Wildcats shot +92.
Rounding out the field was Towanda in third at +111, Northern Tioga fourth at +158, Mansfield fifth at +169, Sayre sixth at +173 while Northeast Bradford didn't have enough to score.
Junior Blair Carson took top honors for Wellsboro, as he was +9 through 15 holes. Dillan King was +15, Zach Bower was +19 while Brett Kendrick and Josh Pifer were both +20. Garrett Worden rounded out Wellsboro's team with a +35.
With the win, the Hornets improve to 12-0 on the season. The team will be back in action today as they travel to River Valley.
